Owen Lang has done it once again by directing and editing another music video for Beard. Owen had a vision come to him shortly after the first few plays of “Florida”. A few days later I received an email from Owen pitching his idea for the video. I thought he was insane and I still do but that is why we all trust him. One of the more memorable parts of the shoot was just as we were getting started Owen pulls out a few bags of water with these goldfish swimming in them. He was hoping that the goldfish would translate with the white background just as the oranges had done. Later on that day he convinced Bryson to put one in his mouth which took a lot of mental preparation and focus from Bryson (presumably to not barf). The fish lived but sadly, the shot was never used. That’s show biz.

Back in September of 2009, sometime when I was down in Costa Rica, a famous Los Angeles DJ by the name of Eddie Winters came to Baltimore. Eddie Winters was a very successful and famous LA DJ in the early 70’s and made a name for himself on the airwaves sharing his vast musical knowledge and mixing it with some of his own personal experiences. I was fortunate enough to have Eddie lend his satin-like voice to an episode of the Jason Dove Diaries (Episode 10) while Winters was in town. I was told that Eddie hosted a 45-minute long set of fantastic classic rock on Towson University’s WTMD radio station while I was out of the country. I was able to track down some of the guys that work over at “TMD” and persuaded one of the engineers to burn off a copy of Eddie’s visit. I was told that no one had been on the air and made such a huge impact on the “TMD” audience in quite a few years. I am excited to share this recording with you in 3 parts.

Here is a brand new video for my band Beard which also features Bryson Dudley on Bass and Jason Butcher on Drums. This video was conceived, shot and edited by our dear friend, Owen Lang in February of 2010. Hope you enjoy it.

I followed the Baltimore band Sick Weapons around as they set up and played a show at the Copy Cat Building in January, 2010. The night was really cold and coincidentally the same night the the Baltimore Ravens lost in the playoffs (Versus the Indianapolis Colts). To add insult to injury the elevators in the Copy Cat building were broken with the exception of one. This is the first video in my series called: FUN. Thanks for watching.

Episode 9 – The Phone Call

Here are the final 2 episodes of the Jason Dove Diaries: Season Two. This first video is episode 9 which is called “The Phone Call”. It features Jordan Koepke as Adrian Grenier. Keep an eye on Grenier’s right hand man, played by Ian Corey. Ian almost steals the show with his copycat style antics and his desperate offerings for coffee, coffee, coffee.

Episode 10 – The Showdown

This is episode 10, the season finale of the Jason Dove Diaries. This episode is called “The Showdown” and features a wonderful performance of both Jordan Koepke as Grenier and Jim Gallagher as the Drug Lord. Keep an eye out for Chris Harring who plays one of the undercover cops performing surveillance. Chris handled 99% of all the camera work on the Jason Dove Diaries for both season 1 and 2.

Here are the 2 latest installments of the Jason Dove Diaries. These episodes feature Leslie Kopchinski as the girlfriend charachter. Episode 7 is the first episode we shot for the series. We had no idea of what the story line would turn out to be at the time that we shot episode 7. It was not until much later did we decide to make Adrian Grenier the bad guy and thus prompting me to get the gun and very large bag of blow. As for episode 8…one of my fondest memories was editing this episode and having to hear Leslie bitching at me over and over again as I edited and edited. Can you imagine?

This is the 4th episode of the Jason Dove Diaries. This Episode is called “The Drop Off” and stars Mackenzie Astin as himself. You may recognize Mack from his childhood role on the 80’s sitcom The Facts of Life where he played Andy Moffitt for 4 seasons (along side Mister George Clooney). Mack has recently appeared on several television shows such as My Name is Earl, Lost, and Psych. Thanks for watching!
